Poor man didn’t have a chance; but we have him safely tucked away.” The last statement caused me to bawl up and scream. Before I could say anything he hung up on us and now we were just stuck.

“OH MY GOD! HE KILLED MY FATHER!” I cried and cried and the car ride was silent. How could I be so stupid to agree to some shit like this? Now they have my son and I probably will never see him again. I was so angry; I just lashed out.

“Go to Nikole’s house right now. Eric wants to play games by killing my father, its fair game now.”

“Give me the address and we can go get her and those kids. I guess he thought I was about to back down from him since he got a hold of Tezo and his crew. That’s there lost not mines.” Hector drove off after saying what he had to say and we went to Nikole’s house.

Chapter 28

Nikole

I thought I would be ok once I moved back to Chicago; but I wasn’t. Eric popped up out the blue and asked me to get Ericka because he had some business to take care of. I was pissed off at him and didn’t even respond to his text. I been calling him since I left and all of a sudden his phone is back working. I had so much shit I needed to get off my chest I was about to explode.

Neveah been running a fever these last two days and Emari been cutting up in school. He been fighting the other kids and even started cursing. I know I’m the reason he is acting like this because we have been going back and forth since he was little. I told myself, that whatever problems I have from here on out I will just have to face them. Just as I was about to put Neveah down in her crib I turned around and Eric was standing by the door with some flowers, a Victoria Secret bag, a Jacob the Jeweler bag and a box of Sangria.

“Before you say anything, just let me tell you how sorry I am. I fucked up big time Nikole and I don’t know if you will ever forgive me; but it’s worth a try. From the very beginning, when I found out you moved on with Vell I was jealous. I felt like he was competition and I lost out on the love of my life. I always told my dad that whenever I meet a good girl Ima marry her and make her Mrs. White. I know your feelings for Vell is deeper than I will ever know and I can’t fight it anymore.
